Pompano Beach, Florida September 16, 2022 – Kalashnikov-USA (KUSA), the premier manufacturer of AK-pattern firearms in the United States, is offering a limited number of semi-automatic KP-9, KR-103 and KR-103 SFS firearms featuring the same markings and furniture as found on the company’s select-fire versions offered to military and law enforcement customers.Surplus components from military and police orders allow us to offer these limited production guns. Built on semi-auto receivers, they are marked “Restricted: Military/Government/Law Enforcement Use Only”. They also feature an ”A” on the receivers where the fully automatic setting is usually found on our restricted firearms.  However, they contain no full-auto components or capabilities.  As a result, these unique guns can be transferred to and sold by Federal Firearm Licensed Dealers (FFLs) in most states that allow the sale of standard configuration pistols and rifles. *  MSRP is  $981.75 for the KP-9 9mm pistol, $ 990.00 for the KR-103 and $1199.00 for the KR-103 SFS.

KUSA’s KP-9 9mm pistol is modeled on the famous PP-19-01 Vityaz-SN submachine gun and uses a closed bolt blowback mechanism instead of the long stroke gas piston typical of rifle caliber AKs.  Like the original Vityaz, the KP-9 utilizes a shortened AK-74 style receiver modified to feed 9mm pistol cartridges from highly reliable double-column, double-feed magazines.  As a result, the KP-9 features substantial parts commonality with the AK 100 series of firearms.  KUSA’s KP-9 also incorporates subtle but meaningful improvements over the original Vityaz including improved heat treatment, a redesigned top cover, feed ramps, as well as ½-28” thread pitch on the muzzle (and a shoulder) for use with US-manufactured sound suppressors.

Both the KR-103 fixed stock rifle and the KR-103 Side Folding Stock (SFS) rifle fire the ubiquitous, combat-proven 7.62x39mm cartridge. The cartridge’s tapered case design and thick rim contribute to the AK’s legendary reliability. Firing a 124 grain FMJ bullet at a muzzle velocity of 2350 feet per second (with 1520 ft-lb of kinetic energy), it provides more than satisfactory terminal effects and accuracy at normal engagement distances. Like other AK-100 series, both guns feature improved polymer furniture and a side-mounted optics rail.
